Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (2010)

I'd never seen anything quite like Uncle Boonmee before. It's a Thai film and, despite knowing nothing about their society, I'm guessing it's steeped in folklore and tradition; it appears that almost all cultures share the same basic ghost stories and fables. The narrative is presented through a number of different cinematic styles with an elusive non-western style dream-like quality, but mostly plays out like a documentary. I was enthralled. It's very weird and very slow.
