EL HABITANTE INCIERTO [THE UNCERTAIN GUEST] - 2004

A stranger disappears in your own home but you suspect they never left.

Creepy? Yes. Very.

Spain delivers the wiggins once again with this well-crafted mystery/thriller that relies on atmosphere and setting rather than blood and violence to send chills down the spine.
This film played a lot like a David Lynch film with it's confusing and unexplained narrative but never really shoves the 'weird' in your face like Lynch would.
The loneliness and emptiness of a recent break-up is captured incredibly well, along with the messy feelings that are conjured following all that.
Clichés are thrown out the window, which makes for unpredictable, often funny and intriguing tale.
