Tales of Terror: Haunted Apartment (2005)

aka: Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: Yûrei manshon

A surprisingly well-lit apartment building with crappy doors is haunted by a vengeful school girl with long creepy hair. Sounds familiar... have I seen this a dozen times before? Yes and no. It doesn't dare to be anything other than a competent J-Horror until (can't say, spoiler), so the film gets an extra point for throwing that curve-ball at me; you may disagree and think it there just for the hell of it.
The direction was uninspired, but the acting compensated for the lack of finesse and it had one or two scary moments that gave me welcome shivers.
