aka: Ju-on: White Ghost / The Grudge: Old Lady In White
The Ju-on series continues, this time as two short films each one hour in length; the other is reviewed here.
Shiroi Rojo tells of the murder of a family and the haunting that follows as a consequence. It has the scares and soil-yourself moments that we've come to expect from the series and overall is an effective slice of J-horror. Like the previous films, it’s told in an episodic and fragmented manner and it works beautifully, perhaps even more so than Ju-on: The Grudge. I’d not have complained had it been a full-length straight-to-disc feature.
