Blood: The Last Vampire (2000)

A partially sepia toned horror anime from the land of the rising sun.
With lots of flishy-flashy action and very little exposition it feels like an extended trailer or a promo for Production I.G to say “Hey, look what we can do with depth of field; we rock!” And they do, the movement of both camera and characters is impressive.
It’s set in 1966, around an American military base in post-war Japan, so we have a dual audio track, which is the biggest failing as the English v/o moments are dreadful. In case you somehow missed the metaphor the rolling credits pound it home.
