Freddy’s plan is to possess the body of a new boy who’s moved into the Elm Street residence in this campy first sequel.
Why were the sequels given such a bad rep? They’re all above average in one capacity or another—the inventiveness of the kills, for one, places them high on the horror all-stars list. Robert Englund proves himself one of the great modern character actors with his representation of evil which is often imitated but never equaled. This installment is definitely funnier and cheesier than the original, but that never hindered the series in my opinion. The only problem is the limited screen time of Freddy…but it’s still filled with numerous memorable sequences that haunted my childhood.
