Army of Darkness (1992)

AKA: Evil Dead 3
The third in the "Evil Dead" saga, this was also the first movie of the series that I saw. As a standalone film, it's a rollicking fun action-comedy (with traces of horror), but as the third part of a trilogy, it is a brilliant conclusion. Seek out the original ending rather than the re-shot U.S. ending (both are equally satisfying, but the original is oh so tragically wonderful). I've seen this movie so many times, I can quote it from heart, and it never fails to put a smile on my face.

5? "...whoa, whoa, whoa...nobody said anything about 5" out of 5

I've seen everything you posted today, and most of them are pure gold. I'm not going to comment on them all. The first two Evil dead films fully deserve their 5, without a doubt.
I've an uncertain relationship with this one. I bought it, watched it, watched it again and decided I didn’t like most of it so gave it away. About a year later I bought it again cheap, watched it and then gave it away. Now I want to see it again. It’s like an ex-girlfriend that won’t stay dead no matter how hard I hit her with the shovel.

I'm going to be giving out 5 stars this month like a cheap whore giving out blowjobs at a candy shop. (?) I've been holding back before, but when films brings me as much joy and pleasure as this, isn't that automatically deserving (and the very definition) of a 5 star rating? I was almost appalled when I saw cuckoo give Scream only 4 stars when I know it's one of his favorite movies of all time. All of these reviews are subjective anyway, so I say go for it.

Evil Dead 2 is my favorite of the series, but for a time, Army of Darkness took the top spot. It's cheesy and the effects are outdated for sure, but it's such a fun little film to revisit over and over again, like an old, messed up friend. I stand behind it 100%.

The first two Dead movie is a 3.5 for me. II is a 4.5 and this one is a 3.

I should note (on the Scream review) I'm reviewing all these films by turning off my fanboy button and taking into consideration all the aspects of the film.
I'm trying to be as fair and as realistic as possible....and it just seems to piss people off. You all can suck on my fat titties.

For me, ratings are constantly evolving. A 4 or 4.5 have room to grow into a 5 through subsequent viewings or a strong fondness. A movie I really like now might turn out to be one of my favorites a year or so down the line. These ratings are all a rough guide anyhow. I prefer the simple thumbs up/thumb down approach. Either a movie is good and I recommend it (3 or above) or it's not so good and I say skip it (2.5 and below). Everything else is subject to interpretation.

I'm going to my happy place. You two can brawl in leotards and mud and afterwards we'll all watch Scissorhands and agree that diversity makes the world go round. :)

(Coincidently, my happy place involves leotards and mud.)

I didn't know Neg and I were disagreeing. What? You trying to start something, Doc? You pervert.

I'm all ready brawling in the mud with Neg today.

I have my work cut out for me if bud wants to get sexy n' muddy with me. :erm:

This was hampered on my first viewing since I was expecting more horror. Cheesiness requires a different mindset. Subsequent viewing smoothed it out for me.
