BERNIE [2011]

Not being much of a fan of Jack Black or Matthew McConaughy's work, with the exception of Dazed & Confused and School Of Rock and now the comedic mystery, Bernie, I think it's safe to say director Richard Linklater brings out the best of the two actors.
Based on the true story of a friendly mortician that murders an elderly woman, Bernie is a black comedy that constantly reminded me of the humorous moments in Fargo.  Black holds back from his annoyingly outrageous persona with great results and allows the community interviews scattered throughout the film to supply the subtle laughs.
