The "Ick" is an organic plant-based alien lifeform taking over the planet and slowly infiltrating the minds of humans, similar to the Blob or Body Snatchers.
I found Brandon Routh's performance charming, as he longs for his high school sweetheart played by Mena Suvari, but it's a garbage CGI fest that probably plays better in party based settings. This movie is so obnoxious and chaotic and feels like it's running at 1.5x speed, presumably for those with TikTok brain rot. The early 2000s-era OST is good, but watching people battle bad CGI simply isn't fun to me. It's below average B-movie fare I wouldn't see again.
