aka Ganheddo
The plot is messsy (something about a future in which computer chips are worth more than gold) but coming from Toho studios means the weirdness is furnished with elaborate sets, props and models, especially the titular Gunhed (Gun UNit Heavy Elimination Device), which is a Japanese mech/tank that wouldn't be too out of place in an early Masamune Shirow manga.
The acting isn't the best but nor is it as bad as some people claim. I suspect a lot of the haters are just sore that the film didn't live up to the expectations set by the Front Line Assembly video.
