In the City of Sylvia (2007)

A wonderfully evocative French film that documents life but uses very little dialogue to do so. The soundtrack of the film is the sound of the city and its people. The background chatter that we're trained to filter out is an integral part of the story and the environment; it helps highlight the depths of the silence that the main protagonist (Xavier Lafitte) lives in. His eagerness to (re)connect to a single soul in that sea is the light that guides.
