Run Lola Run (1998)

Some stories can be adapted easily to other mediums such as novel to comic book, theatre or even to spoken word, but Lola could only work as a film and it took a director with a crystal clear vision of film narrative to make it.
The structure is complex but the story is simple. To prevent a tragedy Lola has twenty minutes to raise a large sum of money and deliver it to a specific destination. A single second can change your life; there are twelve-thousand such seconds in twenty minutes.
Lola spends much of the film running, but the possibilities for branching change on her journey keep it engaging. Visual placeholders help the viewer know how much time has passed and how much still remains.
The film title is very apt; you’ll be repeating the same phrase over and over in your head as you watch.
