Four high school girls bond over delinquency and rebel against the patriarchy when a gutsy, exciting drifter (Angelina Jolie) comes to town, helping them to stand up against the bullies and the abusers. It's a gritty coming-of-age drama that fumbles the ball in the last act, but still manages to leave a lasting impact.
