In West Belfast in the late 2010s, two juvenile delinquents and a music teacher form a hip-hop trio called Kneecap who rap in their native Irish tongue, while they struggle against political opposition and those who would silence them for their vulgar lyrics. What's unique about this "loose" biopic is that the trio play themselves in the film, which lends a respective air of authenticity to the proceedings, as they attempt to defend free speech and their right to speak Irish (which is apparently more controversial than I realized). It's all done in a fairly competent, hyper entertaining fashion, and the music ain't bad either.
