WASTING AWAY [2007]

Matthew Kohnen takes the zombie movie and twists it around by telling it from the walking dead's point of view in the amusing odd-ball comedy Wasting Away.
While it is by definition a stupid movie, I couldn't help but win my heart over by the end with it's likable characters and silly situations.  It has a Kevin Smith air about it, only not as refined as his dialogue and pacing.  It is quite unique in it's genre and with a little bit of smoothing out with the script it might have been a instant classic.  Sadly it falls short of it, with some hit & miss acting and badly timed editing.  Still, it's a fine little film to warm your heart with the sight of blood & guts.
