The third film lands in the capable hands of Brian Yuzna, who attempts to do something different with the series...by stealing a page from the Re-Animator handbook. A guy uses the reanimation process to bring back his girlfriend, who of course returns with a hunger that can't be sated. I wish this film was better, but it's a showcase for gnarly zombie effects, so it satisfies a certain need.

Note: There were two further "in name only" direct-to-video installments (Necropolis and Rave to the Grave), both released in 2005. I saw them once, but have no interest in revisiting them. They were automatic zeroes.

I think I've mentioned previously about horror movie posters in my local VHS rental store back in the day... This one stayed on the main counter for years. The store owner must've really liked it. I don't recall ever seeing the movie itself on the shelves, though. Weird. Maybe he just had a zombie-girl fetish.
Part of the reason I love this blog so much is because it reminds me of strolling down the aisles at the video store and looking at all the eye-catching cover art. The promotion for this one was definitely featured prominently at the time. The other one you mentioned was for Friday the 13th Part IV.
That's the one! The weird potato. 😂
In defense of your weird shop keeper, I can't think of many other movies that prominently featured BDSM zombie babes on the cover... 🤔
