Willard (1971)

Introvert young man finds a kindred spirit in rats in this classic ‘70s horror film. It’s your typical boy-meets-rat-and-trains-it-to-attack-people story. When a girl becomes involved, Willard decides he needs to break clean, and the vermin turn against him. Not a very good film, but it has cult appeal…however, in this rare case, I think the remake did a better job of telling this sordid little tale.
